Positive: The house beautifully represents old Hawaii. It has a very comfortable vibe and you can tell the owners take pride in their piece of paradise. The property is beautiful, lush, secluded and private.

Great for our desire for historic house embedded in forest nature close to Volcanoes NPoes Positive: Great historic house. Peaceful rainforest garden. Native forest and birds. Negative: Needs an obvious house number or Ola'a name sign. Double bed in 2nd bedroom would be better for groups.

The people who ma age this property respect their guests and truly love their property! Positive: Absolutely beautiful plantation house and garden. We could feel the history of the house and the loving care of the owners. Location was wonderful. Right in heart of Volcano and 5 mins from Volcano National Park, meaning we could go to the park for sunrise, get breakfast in the Sunday market and go back into the park later for a whole day.

Definitely worth it and we would stay there again. Great location for Volcanoes Park. Positive: This is an older home that has been maintained beautifully and is very comfortable and attractive. The fireplace was great. The shower has been updated and is modern. The hosts have a booklet there with suggestions for activities and dining, and left a small loaf of delicious banana bread. I'd have rated the home 9.5 if I could Negative: The kitchen was adequate, but there could have been a few more supplies of food prep utensils. This town is small with limited dining and grocery options. Shop in Hilo or Kona before you go there. Hilo is 45 mins away.
